Lakki is such an example; the town was called Porto Lago by the Italians who established it roughly a hundred years ago, during the thirty-year lengthy Italian Rule on the Dodecanese Islands (1912 – 1943). Visit the Archaeological Museum to witness inscriptions, tomb steles, coins, mosaics, and artifacts from prehistory. The Folk Art and History Museum of Leros situated in Alinta village’s renovated Belleni tower. The folk-art collection includes antique clothes, shoes, kitchenware, ecclesiastical historical objects, embroideries, musical instruments, etc. Due to its form and strategic position in the Aegean, several displays relate to the island’s warfare times and invaders. The Military Museum at Merikia Tunnel, located on Leros Island, is one of a kind. The area’s 20th-century warfare history is here. The museum yard has vintage military automobiles, planes, guns, and other items.
